Term 1 + Term 2: Student led project - Idea generation, development and generating a final piece
Moving toward Christmas of Year 11 over terms 1 and term 2, students will build on their chosen theme - to begin planning ideas and refining their work. Students will be expected to demonstrate the assessment criteria. Students will end the term creating a final piece, in a 5-10 hour mock exam which prepares them for the externally set assignment. This project hopes to build students confidence and understanding of what is expected leading into their externally set assignment (Component 2) in January.
Students receive regular verbal feedback and spend more time reviewing and refining ideas, to show progression in their creative practice. Progress is recorded and students receive personalised feedback based on their e-portfolios.

Term 3 + Term 4: Examination Project
Students begin their exam based project based on a series of briefs provided by the exam board. Students use their knowledge and expertise gained in previous projects to plan and create their own response to the material provided. This changes from year to year, however students will have complete creative freedom to express their ideas and lead their own photographic journey throughout. Students will follow the same process as in the previous two projects, putting into practice what they have learnt.
Assessed against the 4 AO's provided by the exam board. Student progress recorded on trackers which are shared with students.
